Privacy Policy — MyMacros

MyMacros (“the app,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address to sign you in and sync your data.
Health & nutrition data: Food entries, macro and calorie targets, and related logs you enter. This stays associated with your account and is used solely to provide the app’s tracking features.
Activity & fitness data (optional): If you choose to connect Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), the app reads your steps, active energy, and body-weight entries with your permission so it can show your activity alongside your nutrition. This access is read-only, and you can revoke it any time in Apple Health or Health Connect.
Photos: If you add a photo to a meal you create, it is stored in our backend and served from a public link so the app can display it.
Diagnostics: We may collect anonymous crash and performance data to fix bugs and improve stability.

How we use your information

We use your data only to operate and improve the app — to save your logs, sync across your devices, and diagnose problems. We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for advertising.

Apple Health & Health Connect

With your permission, MyMacros reads activity data — steps, active energy, and body weight — from Apple Health on iOS and Health Connect on Android. We use it only to display your activity next to your nutrition inside the app. We never sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties. Access is read-only and can be turned off at any time in Apple Health or Health Connect. Data obtained through Health Connect is handled in accordance with the permissions you grant and is not transferred to any third party.

Data storage & deletion

Your data is stored securely. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Account → Delete account), or by contacting us.

Requests from authorities

If we receive a request from a public authority for user data, we review the request's legality before responding, disclose only the minimum information necessary to comply, and keep documentation of the request, our response and the reasoning involved. We have received no such requests to date.
