Privacy Policy

MyRecipes (“the app,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We do not show ads, use third-party analytics, or sell your personal data.

Information we collect

• Account information: When you create an account, you sign in with your email address (or with Google or Apple). We collect your email address and a unique account identifier to sign you in and sync your data. If you set a display name, we store that too.
• Content you create: The recipes, ratings, meal plans, and notes you create or import.
• Photos: An optional profile photo and any photos you add to recipes. These are stored in our backend and served from public links so the app can display them.
• Voice (optional): The hands-free cooking feature uses your microphone. Audio is processed by your device’s built-in speech recognition to turn speech into commands; we do not record or store your audio.

We do not collect your location, contacts, messages, or any financial information.

How we use your information

We use your data only to operate and improve the app — to save your recipes and plans, sync across your devices, and provide features you request, such as importing a recipe from a web link or, if you choose to share a recipe, showing it in the community recipe list. We may also receive anonymous crash and performance data to fix bugs.

Where your data is stored and who can see it

Your account and content are stored using Supabase, our backend hosting provider, which processes the data on our behalf. Access is restricted so you can only read and write your own data, with two exceptions you control: photos (profile and recipe images) are stored with public links, so anyone with the link can view that image; and if you share a recipe to the community, that recipe becomes visible to other users of the app.

Third-party services

• Supabase — account, database, and photo storage.
• Sign in with Google / Apple — used only to authenticate you, if you choose those options.
• Recipe import — if you import a recipe from a web link, that link is fetched to read the recipe. Text recognition from photos runs on your device.

Data storage & deletion

Your data is stored securely and encrypted in transit. You can delete individual items (a recipe, your profile photo, etc.) at any time inside the app. You can also permanently delete your entire account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Account → Delete account), or by contacting us.

Requests from authorities

If we receive a request from a public authority for user data, we review the request's legality before responding, disclose only the minimum information necessary to comply, and keep documentation of the request, our response and the reasoning involved. We have received no such requests to date.
